Scotty P's is a family owned restaurant known for their burgers, but they serve up much more than that. This past Saturday I had the pleasure of dining their and meeting the owner Mr. Scotty himself. He is one of the nicest owners I've ever met. He makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. One of the inside tips he revealed to me is that they have one person that makes all of their sauces and soups bright and early so that you will consistently get the same great flavors.
Our meal started off with chili and chicken tortilla soup. My friends really enjoyed their chili and said that it was perfectly seasoned. The chicken tortilla soup was good as well. Put avocado on just about anything and I'm sold. This soup had big chunks of fresh avocado and had tortilla strips that weren't mushy so that's a plus.
Following our soups we had cardiac fries that were loaded with everything you can imagine besides the kitchen sink. The onion rings were battered with an interesting corn meal like batter. The thing I like best about the onion rings is that you get a perfect bite each time. Sometimes you eat onion rings and the onion pulls through and you're just left with crust, or the crust is just mush. That's not the case with these though. Each bite is the perfect bite of onion and batter.
The burgers are Scotty's main thing. You can order from a menu of their classic burgers or you can build your own burger. When you build your own the options are endless. You can have a beef, turkey or veggie based burger. Then load it up with all of the toppings you desire from onions, to a fried egg and don't forget those fresh homemade sauces.
You can't end a meal without dessert. We ended with oreo and vanilla shakes. Thanks Scotty for your hospitality ! You were a great host.
