I first became introduced to Brandy Milk Punch years ago at a southern restaurant here in Dallas, TX. I was intrigued by the idea of a milk based cocktail. They served it on the menu with fresh warm chocolate chip cookies. Of course I had to try it. This cocktail took a classic childhood favorite to a new adult level and I loved it.
A cousin to Eggnog and Spiked Horchata, this drink packs its own punch and is great for a creamy adult treat. Of course I had to put my own spin on this and turn it into Brandi’s Milk Punch. Instead of traditional Brandy or Bourbon you’d use for Brandy Milk Punch, we will be using Hennessy. If you saw the Hennessy chocolate pecan pie I made here, then you know it is a spirit I enjoy using in different recipes.
This Brandi’s Milk Punch is perfect to enjoy with your weekend brunch or as a dessert cocktail with things like fresh baked cookies and cinnamon rolls. It’s easy to make and dairy free. If you use vegan friendly sugar in your simple syrup, then this cocktail will also be vegan friendly. For simple syrup I like to do just that, keep it simple. I combine equal parts of sugar and water to a microwave safe glass cup and heat for 30 second intervals, stirring between each stop, until the sugar crystals are all dissolved. Let the syrup cool down to room temperature before using. When infusing flavors into my syrup, like strawberries, then I boil it on the stove top.
