A lot of things go down in the DMs. Well, Takeout Tuesday DFW is no exception. What started as a chat discussion started by Val of Val’s Cheesecakes with about 30 Dallas Ft. Worth area food influencers turned into a campaign to help restaurants keep their doors open through the pandemic. We know people are eating out less, restaurant capacity has been reduced, health has impacted people’s ability to work and the list goes on. Takeout Tuesday is a way to still support great places in a safe way. Check out this map to see all of the places that have participated in Takeout Tuesday so far.
Each week I will continue to update this map with additional restaurants as we move into different neighborhoods. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back weekly for updates.
I’m supporting Takeout Tuesday right along with you and using it to discover new places. During the first week I tried out Gallo Nero. I had been craving calamari, so this was the perfect excuse to satisfy that craving. I also got the cannelloni. I can’t wait to explore more of their menu.
Val’s Cheesecake is a place that is very near and dear to my heart. Val, the owner has such a passion for helping the community and engaging us in our civic duties. They feature weekly specials of some of the best cheesecake in town.
Shells and Tails 2 Geaux is the place you want to hit up if you are craving authentic Louisiana style seafood. They pack a kick on their own, but if you’re brave ask for extra spicy. Don’t miss out on Lucy Mae’s rum cake while you’re there.
BurgerIM West End provides not only good food and drinks, but also a great patio vibe experience. Their menu can be customized for a vegetarian or vegan diet making it a great place for the whole crew to come and chill.
Taverna Rossa is a great place to check out if you’re looking for a brunch spot with unique brunch cocktails. The service is great as well.
If you want to check out a Top Chef fan favorite then you’ll need to head over to Roots Chicken Shak for some duck fat fried chicken wings or a chicken sandwich. Don’t miss out on the Koolaid.
Terry Black’s is all about the BBQ but it’s the sides for me (insider lol). The creamed corn, green beans and mac n cheese make a great addition to your meal.
Shoals in Deep Ellum has some of the best cocktails in the city and now you can enjoy some of those great drinks at home from their to go menu. They have also released a new vegan menu which is great. The empanadas and plantains are delicious.
