I don't know why, but a good daiquiri always makes me feel like I'm on Bourbon Street with a drink in hand living my best life. Who doesn't want to feel like they are on their own little get away to the French Quarter? In honor of National Daiquiri Day I've created this short list of places around town to get your Daiquiri Fix.
The Daiquiri Shoppe
My first DFW experience at a place dedicated to daiquiris was at The Daiquiri Shoppe in Grand Prairie. The owners are from NOLA so they know what they're doing. You have wall to wall choices of various combinations of flavors. I usually go for the Octane Hulk mix. If you are a fan of NOLA sports then this place is one you need to check out during a game. The atmosphere will make you feel like you're right at home.
Phat Tuesday
Phat Tuesday lives up to its name with drink specials on Tuesdays as well as tacos for Taco Tuesday. The drinks are what will bring you in, but seeing the beautiful cakes along the counter will keep you around for more.
The Flying Daiquiri
One of the newest Daiquiri shops to hit the metroplex is The Flying Daiquiri in Arlington. You are greeted with authentic southern hospitality as soon as you enter the doors. One side has a variety of daiquiri choices while the other side has a soul food kitchen. They feature different entertainment like live music and karaoke nights.
The Daiquiri Factory & Cafe
The Daiquiri Factory & Cafe is nestled inside of a strip mall of business right off of i35. While you are sipping on your daiquiri you should also consider getting yourself some of their chicken salad and crackers to go along with it.
Daiquiri Cafe
Although I haven't personally visited the Daiquiri Cafe, I did have a friend that brought some of their daiquiris and catfish to my house. We both enjoyed the drinks and the catfish was really good as well.
