Negroni Week – an international charity event sponsored by Imbibe Magazine and Campari – will return to Dallas, June 4-10, and this year the AC Lounge at the newly-opened AC Hotel by Marriott® downtown is joining in on the fundraising. The cocktail that the weekis named after features a trio of flavors that traditionally include: equal parts gin, vermouth and Campari – a bittersweet red liqueur that gives the Negroni its signature crimson color.
Launched in 2013, Negroni Week helps raise money for charities around the world. During the week-long event, participating bars and restaurants will donate $1 from the sale of their Negronis to a local nonprofit of their choice.
Bar Manager Chris Unruh created three variations to feature during this special week including: Red Light Negroni - named after the famous Red Light District in Amsterdam - is made with Genièvre, a Dutch style gin and will be served in a festive lightbulb glass ($12); inspired by the hotel’s Spanish origin, AC Lounge will serve the Spanish Negroni, featuring a Spanish gin ($13) and lastly, the timeless Traditional Negroni ($11).
Enjoy any of the three cocktails during Negroni Week and AC Hotel Dallas will donate $1 from the sale to Trigger’s Toys, a Dallas-Fort Worth based non-profit that serves children who require extended medical assistance by providing childhood experiences through care packages, toys, and events.
So grab your co-workers, friends, and loved ones, and take part in the week-long charitable festivities, which to date has collectively raised nearly $1.5 million for charitable causes.
